Evening Rose performed at the Ohio Glass Museum as part of the Lancaster Festival on Monday.  It was a fantastic place to play to a packed room of enthusiastic listeners!  The concert included many selections from our latest CD, The Meeting of the Waters, as well as many other favorites.  A crowd favorites was The Fields of Athenry, which is on our debut CD, First Bloom.

Many thanks to Anne Kiphen and all of the volunteers and staff at the Ohio Glass Museum for sponsoring the concert and for being fantastic hosts.  Thanks also to Lou Ross and everyone at the Lancaster Festival for including us in the festival line-up again this year.

Parrticipants in the Evening Rose Mountain Dulimer Workshop at Refelctions Retirement Community

Evening Rose offered beginning dulcimer lessons to residents of Reflections Retirement Community in Lancaster yesterday.  The workshop participants learned basic playing techniques, strumming the beat and playing the melody on the fret board.  By the end of a thirty minute session, they were able to perform in concert with Evening Rose on the dulcimer classic Bile Them Cabbage Down!

We had a fabulous time sharing our passion for the mountain dulcimer!  Grateful thanks to the fantastic workshop participants!  Click here to see a few photos.

Kathy from Evening Rose owns a classroom set of Backyard Dulcimers and has 23 years of classroom experience.  Feel free to contact her at kathy@eveningroseonline.com to schedule workshops for your school, community group, festival, or residents.  Basic dulcimer playing is achievable by people of all ages!

Hailey, Laura, Cindy, Chloe, and Kathy

Yesterday was Festival Fair Day for the Lancaster Festival.  Evening Rose gave a concert on the main stage, featuring music from our latest CD, The Meeting of the Waters. Following the performance, we offered dulcimer lessons/demonstrations on the porch of the old restaurant.  Hailey, Rachael, and Chloe are pictured above.

While they were all great participants, we want to give a special shout out to our new friend, Chloe!!  This was the first time she ever touched a dulcimer, and she took it like a natural!  Look out dulcimer world, here comes the next prodigy :)!
