			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Evening Rose performed at the <a href="http://www.ohioglassmuseum.org/">Ohio Glass Museum</a> as part of the <a href="http://www.lanfest.org/">Lancaster Festival</a> on Monday.  It was a fantastic place to play to a packed room of enthusiastic listeners!  The concert included many selections from our latest CD, <em><a href="http://www.eveningroseonline.com/products.html">The Meeting of the Waters</a>, </em> as well as many other favorites.  A crowd favorites was <em>The Fields of Athenry, </em>which is on our debut CD, <em><a href="http://www.eveningroseonline.com/products.html">First Bloom</a>. </em></p>
<p>Many thanks to Anne Kiphen and all of the volunteers and staff at the Ohio Glass Museum for sponsoring the concert and for being fantastic hosts.  Thanks also to Lou Ross and everyone at the Lancaster Festival for including us in the festival line-up again this year.</p>

<p>Evening Rose offered beginning dulcimer lessons to residents of <a href="http://www.reflectionsrc.com/">Reflections Retirement Community</a> in Lancaster yesterday.  The workshop participants learned basic playing techniques, strumming the beat and playing the melody on the fret board.  By the end of a thirty minute session, they were able to perform in concert with Evening Rose on the dulcimer classic <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boil_Them_Cabbage_Down">Bile Them Cabbage Down</a>!</p>

<p>Yesterday was Festival Fair Day for the<a href="http://www.lanfest.org/"> Lancaster Festival</a>.  Evening Rose gave a concert on the main stage, featuring music from our latest CD, <em>The Meeting of the Waters. </em>Following the performance, we offered dulcimer lessons/demonstrations on the porch of the old restaurant.  Hailey, Rachael, and Chloe are pictured above.</p>
<p>While they were all great participants, we want to give a special shout out to our new friend, Chloe!!  This was the first time she ever touched a dulcimer, and she took it like a natural!  Look out dulcimer world, here comes the next prodigy <img src='http://eveningroseonline.com/blog/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> !</p>

<p><strong>Evening Rose </strong>will be involved with the Lancaster Festival this year on <strong>Saturday, July 23</strong> and <strong>Monday, July 25</strong>.</p>
<p><strong>Saturday, July 23</strong> is the annual <strong>&#8220;Festival Fair Day!&#8221; </strong> 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.<br />
Fairfield County Fairgrounds<br />
Admission: $5 adult, FREE parking and FREE child admission<br />
Stroll through the scenic, historic Fairgrounds and enjoy a family day of fun and adventure. There’ll be music in the air,<br />
encounters with a menagerie of critters, good foods to savor and intriguing hands-on projects, activities and exhibits.<br />
And you can be a hero, too! Please bring pet food or supplies to benefit the Humane Society and you’ll be entered in a drawing for free Beach Boys concert tickets.</p>
<p>Evening Rose performs on the stage at 10:45 am, and we will be on the porch of the old restaurant the rest of the day.  We will offer introductory dulcimer and bodhrah  lessons (instruments provided) and we will be jamming! Check out the <a href="http://www.lancasterfestival.o?rg/forms/2011/2011_tix_broch.p?df">Festival Brochure</a> for other events featured at Festival Fair Day.</p>
<p>On <strong>Monday, July 25</strong> we will perform at the <a href="http://www.ohioglassmuseum.org/index.php">Ohio Glass Museum</a> at 2:00 pm.  The Ohio Glass Museum is located at 124 W. Main Street, Lancaster, OH.  This concert is free and open to the public!  Plan to come early and/or stay after the concert to allow plenty of time to visit the museum&#8217;s exhibits and gift shop.</p>

<p>Craig Heath&#8217;s Big Green Mountain fuses Celtic, Appalachian, Folk, and Blues to form a unique sound.</p>
<p>He  previously released The Lion&#8217;s Tree and Fate of Foreigners  through Forest Street Music.  His third offering, Big Green Mountain,  features more original music than ever!</p>
<p>The event will start at 7:00 on Friday, August 12, 2011 at <a href="http://happypenguincafe.wordpress.com/about/">The Happy Penguin</a>, located just across the road from OU-L on Route 37 in Lancaster.  The event is free and open to the public, but please support the musicians by purchasing their CD&#8217;s and The Happy Penguin by having dinner or coffee.</p>
