We participated in the Family Fair Day for the Lancaster Festival last Saturday. It was a fabulous day, but if we had to sum it up in one word, that would be HOT!
We gave a concert on the stage at 10:45. We played some of our standards like “Fields of Athenry” and “Come By The Hills.” There was audience participation with “The Wild Rover” and “Rattlin’ Bog,” and we included some of the not-so-blantantly Christmas selections, “What Noise on Earth” and “Christmas Day Ida Moarnin’” to promote the new CD. We ened with a three-part a capella version of “The Parting Glass.” It is quickly becoming our favorite piece to sing.
Later in the day we gave hands-on instrument demonstrations on dulcimer and bodhran. Many thanks to our good friend John for leading the bodhran classes! We had eager participants of all ages. It really is cool to see so many people interested in folk music. We had a great time. Thanks to everyone who stopped by.
Go to “photo galleries” to see many pictures from the day.

We were invited to provide music during the Art Walk at the First Presbyterian Church. It was a wonderful evening! Those of you who’ve done the Art Walk know that it’s usually really HOT! We were very lucky - we got to play in the lovely air-conditioned church! There was a room a wonderful display of art representing various mediums. The folks from the church donate cookies for a delicious spread to share with the community. We played directly across from the cookie table - very tempting all night long!!
It was a great place to play. There was a steady crowd of people throughout the evening. The people from the church were very gracious hosts, to us as well as to the many Art Walk visitors. We were asked back for next year!

Many thanks to everyone who attended our CD Release Party last Saturday. We had a blast!! We ended up extending the day and having a potluck for our familes, followed by the live ”premiere performance” of “CHRISTMAS ROSE.”
It means the world to us to have the opportunity to share our music with the world. It would not be possible without the constant support and encouragement of our families and friends, so thanks to all of you for helping to make our dreams into reality.

We performed at LanFair Assisted Living Facility in Lancaster on Sunday. This was our first concert since St. Patrick’s day after many many hours of playing Christmas music in March/April as we were working on the CD. So it was good for our souls!! It was a packed house of friends and family as well as the residents. “Grandpa Mucky,” a long time friend of the family, and Laura’s grandma, live there. Our music is our passion, and it’s always a thrill to get to share that with other people. It is most rewarding to hear the residents sing along with us on favorites such as “I’ll Fly Away” and “Amazing Grace.” We debuted “The Parting Glass” that day too - three part a capella. It went well for a first performance! We’ll be working that one in a lot this year.
